LIONS DISTRICT 2-S2 HALL OF FAME


PURPOSE
The purpose of the Lions District 2-S2 Hall of Fame is to “bestow honor upon outstanding Lions in District 2-S2 who have given usefully of their time, talents and means to further the cause of humanitarian services”.

LOCATION
A suitable plaque, with the names inscribed, will be displayed in a prominent location in the Lions Eye Bank of
Texas.

STANDARDS
Minimum Standards to qualify for the District 2-S2 Lions Hall of Fame are:
An active or deceased member with at least five (5) years of service.
Outstanding and dedicated service to Lionism beyond the call of duty.
Service to community, district, state and international Lionism.
Special achievements in, or contributions to, humanitarian service for those less fortunate.
Solicitation in any way for this recognition will automatically eliminate the candidate for that year.

NOMINATIONS
Nominations, along with a profile, will be provided to the Nomination Committee in writing. Said nomination may be made by any Lion in the District that is in good standing. The nominations are required to be received by December 31st of each year. There is no requirement to induct someone each and every year.

CANDIDATES
There may be one (1) candidate selected each Lions year. In order to recognize past Lionistic service, two (2) additional candidates (that are deceased) may be selected for the years, 19931994, 1994-1995, 1995-1996, 1996-1997, and 1997-1998 only. The cost of the plaques shall be borne by the District.

SELECTION
The selection shall be made by the Hall of Fame Committee. The Hall of Fame Committee shall be appointed by the District Governor and shall number five (5) Active Lions in good standing, none of which are from the same club. The candidate(s) shall be certified, by the selection committee, prior to the third cabinet meeting.

PRESENTATION
Presentation shall be made at the District Convention at an appropriate time as selected by the District Governor. Each selectee will receive an appropriate plaque.

MODIFICATION
A two-thirds majority of the District 2-S2 cabinet, as defined in the District 2-S2 Constitution and By-Laws, qualified and legally voting at a District Cabinet Meeting shall be required to change the provisions of this document. The decision of the majority shall be binding on all members, the District Cabinet and all succeeding District Cabinets.
